Protecting your business’s confidential information

In today’s data-driven world, protecting sensitive information is critical. We offer comprehensive and secure shredding and data destruction services, ensuring your confidential documents and media are handled with the utmost care and professionalism. We understand the importance of compliance and security and we’re committed to providing solutions that give you peace of mind.

As a founding member of the United Kingdom Security Shredding Association (UKSSA), we set the benchmark for shredding standards and security screening in data destruction. Our security shredding is carried out in full compliance with BS EN15713 and GDPR. We undergo rigorous bi-annual audits, ensuring our processing equipment, building security, and personnel screening meet the highest industry standards. We are also registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

We offer both on-site mobile shredding and secure collection services, tailored to your business’s specific needs. Our state-of-the-art shredding equipment ensures the complete destruction of your documents, preventing any possibility of data breaches.

What type of confidential waste can be collected?

We securely collect, sort and shred a wide range of confidential materials, including financial, legal, personnel, customer, medical records and business documents. Once processed, the shredded paper is baled before transfer to UK paper mills for pulping and recycling into tissue-grade products, such as paper hand towels and toilet tissue.

We also offer the secure destruction of IT assets such as DVDs, CDs, hard drives, tapes and other digital media to prevent data recovery. Our services also include the safe eradication of various clothing and uniforms.

We provide secure destruction of branded packaging for food companies and other commercial enterprises, ensuring your brand integrity is maintained. We can efficiently shred any materials that you wish to have removed from public view.

Discuss your options

How often should I dispose of confidential waste?

This depends on the volume generated by your business, but regular, scheduled disposal is recommended, with highly sensitive data disposed of immediately. Secure storage and periodic audits are also essential to maintain compliance and minimise risk.

Can I dispose of confidential waste in regular recycling bins?

No, you should never do this. Data protection laws, such as GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, require businesses to take appropriate measures to protect sensitive information. Disposing of confidential waste in regular recycling bins poses significant security risks, including data breaches, identity theft and legal violations.

How do I correctly dispose of confidential waste?

First, ensure all sensitive documents and materials are separated from regular waste and placed in designated, secure confidential waste bins. For proper disposal, hire a professional, licensed waste carrier specialising in confidential waste destruction, such as Riverdale. Arrange a collection schedule that suits your needs. Upon collection and destruction, always request and retain a waste transfer note or certificate of destruction. This documentation serves as proof of compliant disposal and protects your business in case of any future inquiries or audits.

Who is involved in the process?

Our secure shredding process is handled exclusively by fully vetted, permanent employees. Each team member undergoes advanced criminal record checks and carries company identification. Our secure collection vehicles, equipped with live tracking, and our adherence to BS EN15713 standards guarantee the highest level of security and trust.
